Caleb Ekuban is currently on loan from Leeds at Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira have sent heartfelt Instagram messages to Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban after the striker scored for loan side Trabzonspor – after his mother passed away in the week before the match.
Leeds Live reported that the 24-year-old’s mother had died, and GhanaSoccerNet claim that the striker was given the chance to travel home to Italy where she was living.
However, Ekuban opted to tough it out for Trabzonspor, and he came off the bench in the 74th minute to open the scoring in a 2-0 win for his side just eight minutes later against Kayserispor.
He celebrated emotionally and was congratulated by the whole Trabzonspor squad, who knew of his mother’s passing. Ex-Leeds teammate Vieira and in-form Whites ace Phillips also reacted on Instagram, praising the striker.

Ekuban joined Trabzonspor in the summer on a season-long loan from Leeds, and has since made nine SuperLig appearances for the Turkish outfit – all coming from the bench.
He has scored twice in that spell, his first coming in his debut in a 4-0 win over Leeds’ bitter enemies Galatasaray and the second on Saturday in the 2-0 win.
It remains to be seen what kind of future Ekuban has at Elland Road, after he managed just two goals in 21 appearances during his time in Yorkshire. He has a contract at Leeds until 2021.
