Ronaldo Vieira is one of the most popular members of the Leeds United squad, and he has commented on the fans’ support.

Ronaldo Vieira has told LUTV that he did not need to think too long when he was offered a new contract at Leeds, and admitted that the fans’ support often leaves him smiling while he is playing.

Vieira is one of the brightest prospects coming through at Elland Road, and is arguably one of the most popular players amongst the fans due to that fact.

Leeds have clearly recognised his potential, having offered him a new contract at Elland Road almost immediately after Andrea Radrizzani took full control of the club earlier in the year. And he explained that there was no hesitation when the deal was put on the table.

“I’m enjoying myself. I’m happy where I am right now, and that’s why I didn’t really think about it when I got offered a four-year deal, so I’m just happy to be here,” he told LUTV.

The news that he had signed a new contract was perhaps as warmly received by the fans as any other contract extension that has been announced in recent months has been. And Vieira admitted that when the supporters sing his name while he is playing, he finds it difficult not to be pleased.

“It’s great to get the fans singing your name on the pitch. Sometimes I even smile while I’m playing because it’s all new for me. I’m happy with it, it shows how hard work pays off.”

Of course, it was a frustrating start to the season for Vieira as he struggled for opportunities in Thomas Christiansen’s side.

But with Vieira seemingly back at the forefront of Christiansen’s plans, he will be hoping that he will be hearing the supporters singing his name a lot more often over the coming months.
