Everton are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table.
Ronald Koeman has told the Daily Mirror that he has been informed that the Goodison Park atmosphere during Everton’s match against Arsenal was the best it has been for some time.
Everton won 2-1 against Arsenal in their most recent outing, with a late goal from Ashley Williams securing the victory.
The Toffees supporters rather carried their side over the finishing line, with the atmosphere at Goodison Park electric.
And Koeman says he takes it as a compliment, that Everton fans were so vociferously backing his side.
“The crowd at Everton against Arsenal was absolutely fantastic,” he said.
“That was the highlight of my entire period so far at this club.
“The fans were bouncing. Some people at the club told me they had not seen this for almost two years and I take that as a compliment for the team.”
Everton had fallen behind against Arsenal, but they showed their spirit to come from behind to take the three points.
Everton had won just once in their 10 matches prior to taking on the Gunners, meaning the pressure was on them to get a result against Arsene Wenger’s side.
The Toffees have now climbed up to eighth place in the Premier League table.
Everton are next in action on Monday evening, when they take on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
