Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu has not been in Ronald Koeman’s squad for three of the last four matches the Toffees have played.

Ronald Koeman has suggested to the Liverpool Echo that Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu will not be leaving Goodison Park at this moment in time.

Koeman appears to have some reservations over using Deulofeu, and the winger’s future has been called into question.

The Spanish wide-man has not even been in Everton’s squad for three of their last four matches.

However, Koeman insists that Deulofeu will not be going anywhere in January, as he is short of wingers.

“At the moment no, because with the injury of first Bolaise and second Dominic,” Koeman said when asked whether Deulofeu would be leaving Everton in the coming weeks.

“Then there is no possibility for Deulofeu at the moment. We have had no approaches.”

AC Milan and Newcastle United are both believed to be interested in Deulofeu.

The former Barcelona man appears to have dropped behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin in recent weeks, meaning he faces a fight to win his first-team place back.

Deulofeu has made 12 appearances for Everton so far this season, but he is yet to open his goalscoring account.
