Ronald Koeman has responded after being asked whether Everton are optimistic that Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson’s future will be resolved imminently.
Ronald Koeman has issued a simple response when asked about whether he is optimistic that Everton could find a resolution to the saga involving Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson in the very near future, the Daily Mirror reports.
The Mirror reports that Sigurdsson is on the verge of making the switch from the Liberty Stadium to Goodison Park, with the Toffees previously making multiple bids for the Iceland international, while the Swans have left him out of their squad for their pre-season friendly with Sampdoria at the weekend.

The Mirror adds that Paul Clement is hoping that the seemingly-inevitable ends up happening quickly to enable him to use the funds to strengthen his own ranks before the new season begins.
And Koeman has suggested that there is a mutual feeling when asked whether he, like Clement, wanted the deal to be completed in the next 48 hours.
“I hope so,” he simply responded, as reported by the Mirror.
After a tremendous summer for Everton, it would surely be the icing on the cake to bring Sigurdsson to the club if he is able to replicate the form he has shown during his time in South Wales.

The 27-year-old has been a talisman for the Swans, certainly proving to be their most dangerous player and playing an absolutely vital role in keeping them in the Premier League last term.
And by getting him in with around a week to go before the new campaign kicks off – which the Mirror is suggesting is highly likely – Koeman may perhaps be optimistic that he will be able to get him up to speed before they take on Stoke City.
