Everton boss Ronald Koeman has seen himself linked with plenty of jobs, even since becoming the Goodison Park supremo in the summer.

The Dutchman has been linked with the jobs at Barcelona and now with the Netherlands. The Dutch job is available after the sacking of Danny Blind this week.

Reports in Holland have made it very clear that Koeman does not want the job. Fox Sports reported that although the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) want Koeman he is not currently interested in the role.

Of course that does not mean he won’t want the job one day. Back in November he made it very clear that he would one day love to manage his country. He was quoted by the Sun as stating:

“Coaching Netherlands remains one of my ambitions. But I think every coach would like that.

“If I get the chance to coach Netherlands, I would like to take that chance.”

“I was keen to take the job in 2014 after my time with Feyenoord and I felt the time was right. They went for Hiddink instead and will have had their reasons for it.

“Time has shown that was not the best choice. But I do not hold a grudge against anyone over it. I would not turn down the job because of what happened in 2014. This is all in the past now.”

But the opportunity has now come up and Koeman has seemingly changed his mind. The Dutchman is clearly happy with the project he has started at Everton and is not iclined to leave it at this stage – even for the national job of his dreams.

Everton will hope that Koeman continues to think that way long into the future.
