Everton lost 4-0 at Manchester United this afternoon.
Ronald Koeman, Manager of Everton
Everton’s miserable run of form continued on Sunday, as they were hammered 4-0 away at Manchester United, prompting manager Ronald Koeman to send a message to fans on Twitter after the game.
The Toffees went into the game having lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur and Atalanta in the same week, whilst before the international break, they were beaten 2-0 at Chelsea, meaning Koeman desperately needed a result.
However, Everton fell behind early on to a stunning strike from Antonio Valencia, before Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s 83rd minute goal sparked a complete collapse from the Toffees defence.
Ex-Everton striker Romelu Lukaku scored against his former club to make it 3-0, before Anthony Martial scored from the penalty spot in added time to seal a 4-0 victory for the Red Devils.

For Everton, the same problems keep occurring; the defence is clumsy and the attack is failing to score, with just two goals scored in five Premier League games, and no matter what formation Koeman chooses, it doesn’t seem to make a difference right now.
The pressure appears to be mounting on Koeman, with fans unhappy with the Dutchman for his tactics, the lack of organisation as well as the summer spending, given that Everton are suffering from a complete lack of pace.
After the final whistle at Old Trafford, manager Koeman took to Twitter to send a message to fans, claiming that the 4-0 scoreline did not reflect the flow of the game.
Koeman also urged fans to remain positive ahead of the home clash with Bournemouth next weekend, with the Dutchman no doubt desperate to claim a victory and ease the mounting pressure on him.
