Ross Barkley wrapped up the points for Everton with his side’s second goal of the match in the 76th minute.
Everton manager Koeman has taken to Twitter to express his delight at the final result.
Everton are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 18 points from 10 matches.
The Merseyside outfit are four points behind Chelsea, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.
The Toffees will return to action next weekend when they take on Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
Everton are very much in the running for a top-six finish in the league this season.
