Everton defender Leighton Baines is on the sidelines at the moment.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman has suggested to The Guardian that Leighton Baines could be on the sidelines for one or two more weeks.
Baines has not featured in a competitive game since the 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Goodison Park in the Premier League in September.
The 31-year-old left-back has been suffering with a hamstring problem, and, according to The Guardian, the England international has suffered a set-back in his recovery.
“It may be another one or two weeks,” The Guardian quotes Koeman as saying regarding Baines’s injury problem.
Everton are going strong in the Premier League at the moment and are in the running for a top-six finish.
The Merseyside outfit are currently sixth in the standings with 15 points from eight matches.
The Toffees are just two points behind Liverpool, who are fourth in the table at the moment and occupy the final Champions League spot.
Baines is an important player for Everton, and the quicker he recovers full fitness, the better for Koeman’s side.
Everton will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League.
