Tom Davies impressed in Everton’s match against Leicester City at the weekend.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has told the Liverpool Echo that he felt Tom Davies was one of his side’s best players against Leicester City in the FA Cup.

Davies was selected for start for Everton for the second match running against Leicester on Saturday.

And Koeman was very impressed by the youngster’s display during the contest, which his side lost 2-1.

However, the Dutch manager was very frustrated that the more senior players in his team had allowed an inexperienced prospect to outshine them.

“If a young player of 18 is today one of the best on the pitch then it says enough [about the quality of the squad],” Koeman said.

Everton actually took the lead against Leicester when Romelu Lukaku hit the back of the net, but they collapsed after scoring.

The Foxes quickly hit back through Ahmed Musa and then began to take control of the contest.

Musa scored again minutes later, to ensure that the champions of England progressed and Everton crashed out of the FA Cup at the earliest possible stage.

The Toffees’ sole focus for the rest of the season will now be on their Premier League campaign, with their next match coming against Manchester City.
