Ross Barkley scored Everton’s second goal of the match in their victory against West Ham United yesterday.
Ronald Koeman has told the Daily Mail that he enjoyed watching Everton midfielder Ross Barkley play against West Ham United.
Everton beat West Ham 2-0 yesterday, to end their winless run and move up to sixth place in the Premier League table.
And Barkley was at the heart of everything good that the Toffees did during the contest.
“He was working hard, he was tackling, offensively he was important in the game,” said Koeman.
“Adrian made an incredible save in the first half and he scored the second goal. He was really the player between the defence and the front to create and that is what you like to see.”
Koeman has previously been critical of Barkley’s performances this season, and the England international was even taken out of Everton’s starting line-up recently.
Barkley seems to have responded well to the pressure put on him by the Dutch boss, though, and his performance yesterday was arguably his finest of the season to date.
Barkley scored Everton’s second goal of the match, after Romelu Lukaku had put the Merseyside club in front.
Everton’s next fixture comes against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and if Koeman’s side are able to pick up a victory they could move in to the top four.
