Ronald Koeman took to social networking Twitter to express his reaction after Everton came from behind to win 2-1 against AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

“We showed character today! A tough game, but a great win. Up the Toffees! #Everton #EFC,” Koeman tweeted after the game.

Everton made a poor start to their 2017/18 campaign, and Koeman was under extreme pressure. They badly needed a win to lift the pressure, and they got one, here at Goodison Park.

However, it wasn’t an easy victory. Bournemouth took the lead through Joshua King in the 49th minute.

Oumar Niasse was introduced in the 55th minute for the injured Wayne Rooney.

The 27-year-old was told by Koeman to leave the club in search of regular games last summer. He netted four times in the top-flight last season but couldn’t prevent Hull City (on loan) from getting relegated.

The Senegal striker scored twice in the space of five minutes to turn the game around in Everton’s favour.

From the jaws of fourth successive league defeat, Everton have moved up to 13th in the Premier League table.
