Everton suffered back to back defeats in the Premier League after the Toffees lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday at Goodison Park.

The Toffees manager, Ronald Koeman, took to Twitter after the match to express his disappointment. He tweeted:

Koeman is spot on with his assessment. Everton did well to match Tottenham for the opening 25 minutes, but after Harry Kane broke the deadlock (he was bit lucky with his effort), they lost control in the match.

Spurs dominated the proceedings after that, and didn’t allow Everton to come back into the match.

Everton had 51% of possession and had 12 shots during the game, according to BBC Sport, but what made the difference was the confidence of the two teams.

Koeman admitted after the match that Spurs grew in confidence as the game progressed. He was utterly disappointed with his side’s second half performance, and said that having conceded immediately after the break, killed the confidence completely.
