Everton are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table.
Ronald Koeman has told the Premier League Show, which was broadcast on BBC Two on 16th November, that he feels that he is 60% of his way through his project at Everton.
Koeman has expressed a desire to guide Everton into the Champions League places in the next few seasons.
The Dutch boss wants the Toffees to start competing for the top four, but he admits that for now he is happy being in seventh spot.
“I think we’re maybe at 60% of the whole project,” Koeman said. “We are still the best of the rest, and it’s what we need and like to be.”
Everton made a flying start to the season, and it is was initially claimed that they could challenge for the top four.
However, Koeman has remained calm throughout the campaign, and always insists that breaking into the top four is the long term aim for the Toffees.
Koeman’s level-headed approach has proven valuable, as Everton have started to slip down the table in recent weeks.
The Toffees have suffered a dip in form, and they lost their last match 5-0 against Chelsea.
Everton return to action this weekend with a match against struggling Swansea City at Goodison Park, which they will be expected to win.
