Everton signed Idrissa Gueye from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

Ronald Koeman has said that he is not surprised by the start that Idrissa Gueye has made since signing for Everton at his press conference this afternoon (which was broadcast on the Toffees’ official Facebook page).
Gueye was brought to Everton from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window, and he has been a revelation at Goodison Park.

The midfielder’s power has added dynamism to Everton’s play, and he is quickly becoming a fans favourite on Merseyside.
Gueye’s talents did not fully show last season, in a Villa side who were abject, but Koeman insists that he has not been taken aback by how quickly the Senegalese international has settled in.
“I’m not surprised. If I am surprised, that’s strange because it’s the signing what we did,” Koeman said.
“The adaptation of the player didn’t take long, and from the beginning he’s won his place. He puts a lot of energy on the pitch, and also quality on the ball. It’s a great signing.”

Gueye has already made seven appearances for Everton in all competitions, and he has played a key role in helping Koeman’s side make a very positive start to the season.
The Toffees are currently unbeaten in Premier League action, and they sit in second place in the top flight standings.
Everton’s next match comes against Bournemouth at Dean Court at the weekend.
