Everton are said to be proposing a swap deal with Burnley for Michael Keane.
According to The Sun, Everton are considering including James McCarthy in a bid to snap up Burnley defender Michael Keane.
Burnley are believed to be interested in adding McCarthy to their midfield ranks, and Everton are now hoping that the Republic of Ireland international can be used in a make-weight to bring in Keane.

The England international centre-back is near the top of Ronald Koeman’s wishlist, but Burnley want a big fee for their prized asset.
And if Everton can knock some funds off the Clarets’ asking price, by giving them a player they no longer want, then it will have to be seen as a very smart move from Koeman.
McCarthy appears to have no future at Goodison Park, after being publicly criticised by Koeman last season.

The combative midfielder barely featured for Everton over the second half of the campaign, meaning he is unlikely to be missed too badly on Merseyside.
Keane, on the other hand, would play a key role for Koeman’s side and strengthen his defensive options considerably.
And if Everton can bring in one of their top targets, while saving themselves some money, it will have to be seen as a big victory for Koeman’s side.
