Everton were beaten 2-1 by Burnley in their latest Premier League match.
Ronald Koeman has told the Liverpool Echo that Kevin Mirallas was guilty of missing two good chances for Everton against Burnley.
Mirallas was played through twice in the early stages at Turf Moor, but he failed to take advantage.
The Belgian international was not able to beat Tom Heaton in the Burnley goal, and Everton were made to pay for their profligacy.
The Toffees fell to a 2-1 defeat against Burnley, despite dominating for much of the contest.
And Koeman said: “I think we started the game well. (Kevin) Mirallas had two good opportunities in the first 5 or 10 minutes, but after 20-25 minutes, I think we dropped a little bit in intensity.”
Burnley had taken the lead against Everton when Sam Vokes hit the back of the net, but Koeman’s side fired back through Yannick Bolasie.
Everton then had the better of the game, but they were punished in the final stages by Scott Arfield, who fired the ball into the far corner of the net with a well placed finished.
Everton have now failed to win any of their last four matches, with their poor form causing some concern.
The Toffees have now slipped down to sixth place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against West Ham United at the weekend.
