Everton are currently four points behind the top six in the Premier League table.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has told the Daily Mirror that he is determined not to allow his side’s season to peter out.
Everton are currently in seventh spot in the Premier League table, but they have made up ground on the top six in recent weeks.
And Koeman is hopeful that his side can continue to put pressure on Manchester United, to ensure that Everton still have something to play for in the final weeks of the season.
“The worst situation for a football player is you play for nothing,” Koeman said.
“Yeah, we want the highest position but I like to play for something.
“Above us is still a gap but it is never ending, when it is five or six points it is still possible to reach them.
“But the first team behind us is West Brom (four points back) and we get West Brom at home in two weeks.”
Everton will be looking to keep hold of seventh spot in the Premier League table, as that will now book them a place in the Europa League.
Everton have been in excellent form of late, and won 2-0 in their last match against Sunderland.
The Toffees cruised to success against David Moyes’ men, with Idrissa Gueye and Romelu Lukaku hitting the goals.
Everton’s win over Sunderland has lifted them to within four points of the top six, and Koeman’s side are next in action against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
