Everton managed to draw 1-1 with Manchester United in their last match.
Ronald Koeman has confirmed to Everton’s official Periscope channel that he was waiting to see his players be nastier to each other on the pitch.
Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Williams were captured squabbling on the pitch during Everton’s last match against Manchester United.
The pair were criticised from some pundits for being in visible disagreement, while the match was going on.
However, Koeman claims that he had been waiting all season to see his Everton side react in that manner.
“What I like to see is passion,” Koeman said. “They need to understand that we need to support each other. But finally I saw a reaction in this case. I think we are too nice together. We have to ask and talk, and maybe sometimes you need to sort. I have no problem with that.
“The two boys have spoken already to each other, and it’s no problem, but I like this because we need to win.”
Everton put in a spirited display against United in midweek, but they were unable to hold on to claim the three points.
The Red Devils scored a last minute penalty, to claim a 1-1 draw in a match where they struggled to break down Koeman’s side’s defence.
Everton failure to hold on to their lead means that they are in seventh place in the Premier League table, heading into this weekend’s matches.
The Toffees are next in action on Sunday, when they take on Leicester City at Goodison Park.
