Everton manager Ronald Koeman has told Sky Sports that he would like to stay at the club for at least three years.
Koeman was appointed the Everton manager in the summer following his departure from Premier League rivals Southampton at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
As announced on the Toffees’ official website at the time, the Dutchman was handed a three-year contract.
The 53-year-old former Barcelona star has said that he would like to remain at Goodison Park until the end of his contract at least.
Koeman, though, has admitted that it is difficult to speak about long-term future in football.
“As a manager – except from the Wenger situation, Ferguson before – normally it’s difficult to stay a long time in a club,” Koeman told Sky Sports when asked about longevity at Everton.
“I signed for three years, and I’d like to stay for three years, and then after who knows, you never know in football, it changes every day and it’s difficult to talk about the long term, it’s do your job now and see what happens in the future.”
Koeman has done a wonderful job at Everton so far, and everyone at the club should be happy with what he is doing at the moment.
The Merseyside outfit are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from six matches.
A top-four finish in the league this season may be beyond Everton, but the Toffees can certainly push for a place in the Europa League.
