Everton fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Ross Barkley’s performance against Middlesbrough on Saturday evening.
Barkley featured for Everton in the Premier League game against Middlesbrough at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Toffees won 3-1.
The England international played an important role in the victory, which maintained the Merseyside outfit’s strong start to the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
Barkley took four shots and created two chances for Everton against Middlesbrough.
The performance of the youngster impressed Everton manager Ronald Koeman, who spoke highly of him after the match.
“I try to be honest about players,” Koeman told Sky Sports. ”You can’t always say what you think about players because you need to keep it inside but he played how I like to see Ross: offensively strong and defensively he worked very hard.
“Maybe in 90 minutes he lost less balls than in the first 10 minutes against Sunderland.”
Barkley is a very talented and promising young midfielder, and working with a brilliant manager such as Koeman is only going to make him better.
The Toffees are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 13 points from five matches.
