Wolverhampton Wanderers have really captured the imagination during the summer transfer window.
Ron Atkinson has suggested that he is so unsure about what will happen to Wolves in the Championship this season that he could see them winning the title or getting relegated, the Express and Star reports.
It has been an incredibly busy summer at Molineux with Paul Lambert being replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach, while 13 signings have been made – including nine permanent deals – and six have left the club permanently during this window.

Wolves have certainly been one of the teams to capture the imagination with some of the deals that they have done during this window – most notably, landing Ruben Neves for £15.8 million, as reported by BBC Sport.
Nevertheless, Atkinson has suggested that predicting where Nuno’s men will finish this season is incredibly difficult, even suggesting that he could envisage them preparing for a campaign in League One this time next year.
“They are the one team I am not sure about,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star.
“They might romp the league or they might get relegated. I honestly couldn’t tell you.”
While Atkinson is as concerned for Wolves as he is optimistic, it is surely fair to say that it would be a massive surprise if they find themselves battling near the bottom of the table.

However, it perhaps must not be forgotten that there were a number of exciting deals heading into last season but Walter Zenga was soon dismissed after a slow start – so perhaps those struggles have influenced Atkinson’s opinion on how their season will go this time.
But with plenty of quality arriving this summer, it is surely only the team not gelling and the new arrivals not adapting well to the demands of the Championship that can prevent Wolves battling near the top of the table this season.
