Everton have managed just one win in their last ten games.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Romelu Lukaku has insisted that Ronald Koeman needs more time at Everton.
The Dutchman took charge at Goodison Park in the summer when the Blues lured him from Southampton.
He made a flying start to life on Merseyside, with his side picking up 13 points from their first five games.
Things have gone poorly for him and his team in the last few months though as they have managed just one win in their last ten Premier League games.
The pressure is on Koeman to turn things around but Lukaku has urged patience for the Everton boss.
“It’s always the same story,” he told the Daily Mail.
“The manager is really trying to change the stuff – give him a lot of time and he will change and he will do a good job for us. We need to work hard.”
It is easy to imagine that Koeman will be given plenty of time to turn things around at Everton this season.
The Blues pushed hard for him in the summer and he is very much Farhad Moshiri’s man at this moment in time.
Football is undeniably a results business, though, and he must look to turn around Everton’s current poor run of form.
Much is likely to rest on the January transfer window. If the Dutchman cannot get the signings he wants and improve from there, the pressure will increase regardless of his backing from the board.
