Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker admitted that rumours linking him with a switch to Liverpool make him feel ‘happy’, during an exclusive interview with Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Brazilian shot-stopper has proven himself to be one of the continent’s best goalkeepers this season with some fine displays for Roma, but unfortunately for the Italians, his performances have not gone unnoticed, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs thought to be interested in acquiring his services.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool are leading a long line of potential suitors for the 25-year-old’s signature, and they suggest that he could be available for around £52 million this summer.

Alisson didn’t do much to quash the rumours linking him with a switch to Anfield, when speaking exclusively to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, stating that reported interest in his signature makes him happy:

“I do not know what will happen. It is logical that interest makes me happy. I say it’s not just a question of needing. I know my value – not in terms of money, but as a player – I know what I bring to the team. But I think only of the present. What will happen next, we leave it for later.”

Jürgen Klopp seems to be on the cusp of achieving something very special on Merseyside, and if he does in fact manage to bring the Brazilian to Anfield this summer, it could prove to be the signing that takes Liverpool to the next level.
