Romario Vieira is on the verge of breaking into Leeds’ senior side.

Romario Vieira has stated his desperation to be given a chance in the Leeds United first team on Instagram as he continues to shine in Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side.

Vieira, 19, is yet to make his first-team bow as twin brother Ronaldo Vieira continues to shine in the middle of the park for the Whites as they look to finally end their 14-year wait for a return to the Premier League.

But Romario, also a central midfielder, is surely closing in on a place in the first team after being named on the bench during the 0-0 draw against Hull City as he continues to show what he is capable of with the second string.

The teenager posted on his Instagram account, stating that he “will always be hungry” along with the hashtag “starving youth” as he looks to be given the chance to make his debut – even after the sacking of Thomas Christiansen.

I will always be hungry whether in paradise or not!! #starvingyouth

Vieira was given a place on the bench after scoring for the second string with an excellent effort from outside of the penalty area for Leeds’ reserves against Hull’s Under-23’s to win 3-1 last month.

Christiansen has lost his place in the Elland Road dugout after Leeds have gone without a win in seven league and cup outings, losing five and being given four red cards in that time, too.

Now way back in tenth place, Leeds need inspiration from somewhere as they start their search for a new manager, and Vieira could be the man to give them that kick as their promotion hopes quickly evaporate.
