Leeds United’s Ronaldo Vieira made headlines on international duty this weekend.

England Under-20s retained the their Toulon Tournament title with a thrilling 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Ivory Coast Under-20s.
Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira was the hero as he found the top corner from 12 yards, demonstrating the confidence gained after a superb last 12 months.
This time last year the 18-year-old had only just signed his first professional contract with Leeds, before the starlet went on to establish himself as a first-team regular in the Whites’ senior set-up this past season.

Vieira enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough campaign at Elland Road, starting 24 Championship games and signing a four-year extension last month as the Yorkshire club sought to stave off interest in their latest gem.
His twin brother Romario is also at Leeds after signing a one-year professional deal last September, and Ronaldo’s sibling paid tribute to his brother on Twitter.

Romario spent last season with the development squad for the most part, though he will take inspiration from seeing what his brother has achieved in such a short space of time.
Ronaldo netted once in 34 Championship outings last season – a last-minute stunner to give Leeds a 3-2 win at Norwich City. He came to prominence under Garry Monk and, although the 38-year-old manager is no longer there, he will likely figure in his successor’s plans going forward.
