According to Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Leicester City are in advanced talks to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Tete.
This comes as a surprise as it was reported just hours ago that Tete was being targeted by Leeds United.
Tete has shown flashes of brilliance in the past, with his performances against Real Madrid in the Champions League being the standout moments of his career to date. However, it is unclear whether Leicester’s potential move for Tete would be a loan or a permanent transfer.

Leeds United, who are currently in a relegation battle, have already signed Georginio Rutter and Max Wober this month and are said to be closing in on a loan deal for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, and, to be honest, it stands to reason to believe that Tete would be one signing too many for the Whites this month
Leicester City are in a similar boat to Leeds, the Foxes are currently 14th in the Premier League and are looking to strengthen their squad in order to maintain their top-flight status. Tete would be a great addition to their team and would add some much-needed depth to their attack.
Brendan Rodgers has a reputation for developing young talent and Tete would be a great opportunity for him to continue that fine work.
If the deal does go through, it would be interesting to see how Tete would fit into Leicester’s system down the right side and how he would link up with Harvey Barnes on the opposite flank.
We will have to wait and see if the deal goes through, but one thing is for sure, Tete is a talented player and would be a valuable asset for either Leicester or Leeds.
