It looks like Arsenal won’t be locked in a ‘will he, won’t he’ transfer saga involving Dominik Szoboszlai in January.

The Gunners were linked to Houssem Aouar for most of the summer transfer window and then ultimately had disappointment when he stayed at Lyon.

But there’s a new name reportedly on Arsenal’s radar and that is the 20-year-old Red Bull Salzburg gem.

And if Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano is right, the North Londoners will either get good news or a relatively quick death on this front.

According to Romano, the Hungarian attacker, who is also linked with Leipzig and AC Milan, could make a decision on his future as early as next week.

Romano added that Arsenal have wanted the player for ‘many years’.

He said on his Here We Go podcast: “We will have Szoboszlai’s decision by the next week. Leipzig would be the easiest solution because they are in the same family with Red Bull. Milan are always in contact. Arsenal have also been in contact for many years.”

Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch threw further fuel on the fire this week by admitting that the club’s prized asset will more than likely leave Austria next month.

Arsenal, who have scored 10 Premier League goals in 11 games, absolutely need a creative spark, somebody to feed the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up front.

And we might know by next week whether the youngster – who has a £22.5 million release clause – is the man to do that.
