Fabrizio Romano claims Rangers have had a loan-to-buy bid accepted by Juventus for Aaron Ramsey. In a potentially sensational move for Scottish football, it is up to the Gers to convince Ramsey over a move to Ibrox.

Ramsey, 31, is in the last 18 months of his enormous Juventus contract – widely reported at £400,000 a week – but has only played five times for Juve this season. He needs a move, with Max Allegri confirming he will go.

He has been linked with numerous Premier League sides – Everton, Wolves, Leeds, Burnley and Crystal Palace to name a few, this month. But now, Romano reports that Rangers could be about to pull off a stunning move.

Ambitious, given the stature of player and his wages, Romano now reports Rangers have agreed a deal with Juventus. But it remains to be seen if Rangers can convince Ramsey to move to Ibrox in the coming hours.

Romano on Ramsey: Rangers ambition outlined, stunning move

It is a move that could be the shock move of deadline day. Ramsey is a player that at his best, can be one of Europe’s best central midfielders. He certainly was at Arsenal, having a hand in 130 goals in 371 games.

The major stumbling block on the face of it, was his wages. But now, Romano states that a deal has been agreed between Juve and Rangers – meaning the two sides have come to an agreement.

Whether Rangers will be paying a sizable contribution to his pay packet is unlikely. Can Rangers convince Ramsey? Well, the player will know that time is running out to secure a move. Potentially huge, for Scottish football.
