Azzedine Ounahi was always going to be one of the key protagonists of this January transfer window.
The Moroccan midfielder burst onto the scene at the World Cup throughout November and December, and now, he has a number of teams vying for his signature.
Speaking on the House of Champions Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has now shared what he knows about Ounahi as rumours begin to emerge left, right and centre.
According to Romano, Leeds United’s supposed interest in the player is genuine, but there are some rumours doing the rounds that aren’t true.
Indeed, Romano says that while Ounahi has been linked to PSG, the player will 100 per cent not be joining the Ligue 1 leaders.

PSG move not happening
Romano made a definitive claim about Ounahi.
“I can guarantee that, from what I’m told, Ounahi will not go to PSG. 100 per cent. I am told that PSG will not invest in this kind of player, they want to protect the talent they already have in the squad, so I can’t see them investing that money in Ounahi. I saw some reports and I’m told it’s not correct. I think there’s a chance for him to move to a different league. Leeds are interested, this is true. Let’s see how the conversations go with Angers, but Leeds are interested,” Romano said.
Easier path for Leeds
Leeds’ path to signing Ounahi is a lot easier if PSG are not in the race.
With all due respect to Leeds, the French giants could easily pip the Whites to any signing they want, but they’re not even going to engage in this race.
Unfortunately for the Yorkshire club, they still face competition from Leicester and Napoli, but given their history and the project at Elland Road that the foundations are currently being laid for, perhaps they could convince the World Cup star to head to Elland Road this month.
