Fabrizio Romano has stated that reported Arsenal target Yeremy Pino is not in talks to sign for a club in January amid rumours that Chelsea and Tottenham are also chasing the Villarreal star.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, the reporter revealed that no discussions have taken place yet between Pino’s representatives and a Premier League club, with the 20-year-old winger being strongly linked with a move to England as a January move looms over the youngster.

Named in Luis Enrique’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad for Spain, Pino has enjoyed an incredible rise over the past 18 months since breaking through at Villarreal under Unai Emery, with the Sun reporting that Arsenal are interested in the attacker ahead of the January window.

With a winger on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist, Pino could be an ideal signing for the north London side if they can beat the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham to the youngster’s signature. And according to Romano, talks are yet to even begin over a potential departure from Villarreal in the coming weeks.

Romano said when asked about the attacker’s immediate future: “I’m aware of some recent Tottenham and Chelsea transfer rumours and I can say it’s normal that many clubs in England including London clubs are following Yeremy Pino.”

The Italian journalist added: “He’s a top talent and he’s represented by Stellar Group which is super strong in Premier League. At the moment there are no advanced talks yet, we will see in 2023; I’m not sure he’s going to leave in January unless a big proposal arrives.”

Arsenal could face battle from Chelsea & Tottenham to sign Pino

Pino is easily one of the most exciting talents in European football, with the youngster set for a breakout tournament with Spain after his recent call-up with La Roja. And for Arsenal, signing the attacker could become quite the challenge with Chelsea and Tottenham seemingly in the race.

Whilst talks are yet to start, Arsenal face some serious competition for Pino’s signature, and with the forward set to leave Villarreal in January, the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham could smell a chance to sign the winger at a bargain price in 2023.
