Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will hold talks of the agents of Ivan Fresneda next week.

The Italian journalist has claimed that Arsenal and Newcastle are interested in signing Fresneda from Real Valladolid in the January transfer window.

Romano has said that the agents of the 18-year-old right-back’s agents will return to England next week and will hold talks with both Arsenal and Newcastle.

Arsenal or Newcastle United for Ivan Fresneda?

In our view, Arsenal could be more appealing to Ivan Fresneda than Newcastle United in the January transfer window.

After all, the Gunners are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a global brand.

And they could win the Premier League title this season.

Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal are going places and have a very young team.

Fresneda would fit in well at the Gunners.

However, Newcastle could be tempting as well, especially when you consider that Fresneda is likely to get more playing time at St. James’ Park than he would at Arsenal, at least in the short term.

Ben White is playing as a right-back now despite being a centre-back by trade.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta can also call upon Takehiro Tomiyasu for that right-back role.

Kieran Trippier is the number one right-back at Newcastle, and Fresneda could become his back-up.
