Leicester City playmaker James Maddison is close to completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur with a medical imminent.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to schedule a medical for playmaker James Maddison as he nears a move from Leicester City.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Maddison to Tottenham is now moving very close.
Romano has taken to YouTube to claim that Tottenham are closing in with an agreement now ‘really imminent’.
Romano believes that a deal will be fully in place within days or even hours with Tottenham making their move.
It’s added that an agreement with Maddison is ‘done’ and the playmaker has accepted a long-term contract with Tottenham.
Romano adds that Tottenham are already preparing a medical for Maddison and the move is now at its final stages.
“It’s really important to mention about Tottenham, that they are closing in on a deal for James Maddison,” said Romano. “The agreement is really imminent, it is going to happen very soon from what sources say. There is an expectation to get it done very, very soon and the ‘here we go’ expected maybe in the coming hours or maybe in the coming days but the agreement with the player is done.”
“It is a long-term contract, Maddison said yes to the conditions offered by Tottenham and now they are closing on the agreement with Leicester on the fee. They are already, from what I understand, preparing the medical tests for James Maddison, so work in progress for Maddison to Tottenham, we are really at the final stages of this story and it’s a crucial one,” he added.
Tottenham completed the signing of Guglielmo Vicario on Tuesday as the Empoli goalkeeper made his move to London.
A playmaker is now a top target and it looks like Maddison will be their man.

How much will James Maddison earn at Tottenham Hotspur?
The Daily Mail report that personal terms have been verbally agreed and Maddison will be earning around £170,000-a-week at Tottenham.
That’s a considerable outlay for Tottenham, though an alleged fee of around £40million is fairly reasonable for Maddison.
£170,000-a-week puts Maddison in with Tottenham’s top earners and much will be expected of him in North London.

Tottenham simply had to find a playmaker with real creativity and technical ability to transition to Ange Postecoglou’s style of play.
Maddison certainly fits that bill and the hope is that he can bring even more threat to Tottenham’s attacking options.
Now set to feature in Postecoglou’s 4-3-3 and supply ammunition for Son Heung-min and – hopefully – Harry Kane, Maddison’s move from Leicester to Tottenham seems perfect and a deal is imminent.
