Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a major signing with Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven nearing a move to North London.
Micky van de Ven could finally be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur with a deal now close to being agreed.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Tottenham are ‘close’ to reaching a full agreement with Wolfsburg.
It’s stated that the deal is now advancing to the final stages with Tottenham seemingly nearing a deal.
Romano adds that there are still some ‘details’ to sort but an agreement should be done very soon.
Van de Ven has allegedly agreed personal terms with Tottenham, so there shouldn’t be any issues once Spurs have a deal in place with Wolfsburg.
This will hopefully mean that Tottenham are finally on the verge of solving their centre back quandary.
Tottenham have been struggling to land the two new centre backs needed under Ange Postecoglou but finally look set for a breakthrough.
Tottenham have been chasing Micky van de Ven for weeks
Spurs fans will mostly be glad to hear that this rumour is finally approaching its end.
Tottenham have been trying to sign Van de Ven for a while now, even going back to June.
Fans were excited when Dutch reporter Mike Verweij suggested that Van de Ven had agreed a five-year deal with Tottenham.
Moments later, The Mirror’s John Cross reported on Twitter that Spurs were poised to secure a £30million deal for Van de Ven.

Nearly a month has passed since then and Van de Ven remains a Wolfsburg player.
Tottenham finally seems to be closing in with Van de Ven seeming like a perfect fit for Postecoglou.
The Dutchman is a huge presence at 6ft 4in tall and offers a natural left-footed option at centre back.
That will be useful for playing out from the back as Postecoglou wants, and his exceptional pace will be ideal for playing in a high line.
Van de Ven was clocked as the joint-ninth fastest player in the Bundesliga last season and has been praised for his ‘extreme speed’ by Wolfsburg managing director Marcel Schafer.
Van de Ven must still develop some aspects of his game but Spurs will surely feel that they have landed the right fit for their back line.
