Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on the future of Barcelona winger Ansu Fati ahead of transfer deadline day.
Tottenham Hotspur have made contact over a potential move to sign Barcelona’s Ansu Fati with Chelsea in the mix too.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Fati is ‘one to watch’ in the final days of the transfer window.
It’s stated that Tottenham have made contact ‘to be informed’ about a potential late deal for Fati.
Tottenham are still working on a deal to bring in Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson with the Welshman their top target.
Spurs will have backup targets ready to go just in case they can’t sign Johnson though and Fati appears to be one of them.
90Min add that Barcelona are ‘open to offers’ for Fati having told him that he is free to move on this summer.
Romano claims that Chelsea have been offered the chance to go for Fati as they seek to land another winger.
It’s unclear just how much interest the Blues have in that deal though whereas Tottenham appear to be taking an active interest.
UPDATE: Romano now adds that Tottenham are in talks over a loan deal for Fati, which would see him join until next summer.
Chelsea still haven’t made a move and Tottenham look like the favourites for Fati, with a move for Johnson now potentially in question.

Tottenham target Ansu Fati allegedly snubbed Arsenal
Fati was expected to become a superstar with Barcelona.
The 20-year-old skipped the Barcelona B side and went straight into first-team action at just 16.
Seven goals in 24 La Liga games made Fati a sensation but injuries have been a recurring problem for him in recent years.
Fati managed seven goals last season but hasn’t been able to prove that he should start regularly for Barca.

That means a departure before Friday’s transfer deadline is on the cards after Fati allegedly snubbed a move to Arsenal.
Catalan newspaper SPORT suggested earlier this month that Arsenal made a ‘serious’ move to sign Fati.
However, Fati decided that he didn’t want to leave and snubbed the Gunners, believing he could still be a star for Barca.
Xavi has branded Fati ‘extraordinary’ but he still doesn’t look likely to play a key role for Barcelona this season – and that may just mean he rethinks his stance on an exit with Tottenham keen.
