Tottenham Hotspur are still planning to sign winger Manor Solomon this week despite rescheduling his medical.

Manor Solomon will not have his Tottenham Hotspur medical today – but the deal is still expected to go through.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday that Solomon would be having a medical with Tottenham on Tuesday (4th July).

However, Romano has now added to those claims by suggesting that Solomon’s medical will not be happening today after all.

That may leave some Tottenham fans fearing that the deal for Solomon has collapsed.

Romano claims there are ‘no issues’ though and Solomon is actually in London today.

The winger’s medical is now set to take place on Thursday morning according to Romano, with the medical simply rescheduled.

It’s unclear just why Tottenham have shifted the medical by a couple of days but Romano claims that the Solomon deal is done.

Why are Tottenham signing Manor Solomon?

On the face of it, this looks like a bit of a strange move.

Solomon spent last season with Fulham having suspended his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Israeli wide man showed glimpses of his quality but only started four Premier League games.

Solomon is now taking the jump from Fulham to Tottenham, with all the increased expectation that comes with such a move.

The 23-year-old was something of a super-sub at Fulham and may need to start off in a similar role at Tottenham.

There is clearly potential in Solomon; he is quick, tricky and very dangerous when cutting in from the left flank.

The hope is that Solomon can now really kick on and fulfil his potential with Tottenham as Spurs pounce for a bargain deal.

Tottenham favourite Graham Roberts has praised the move, branding Solomon an ‘excellent’ player.

Let’s hope we see Solomon thrive under Ange Postecoglou, just as international teammate Liel Abada did at Celtic.
