Everton are on the verge of a new striker signing with Sporting star Youssef Chermiti allegedly heading for Merseyside.
Youssef Chermiti looks set to become Everton’s latest signing after Sporting agreed to sell the striker.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Everton have reached an agreement in principle for Chermiti.
It’s stated that a deal is now in place after the two clubs verbally agreed a fee earlier today.
Everton have been desperate to find a new striker to support Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Chermiti appears to be their man.
It’s unclear just how much Everton will be paying for Chermiti but this will feel like a coup for the Toffees.
Bournemouth and Wolves were both thought to be keen on Chermiti but it’s Everton who appear to have won the race.

Who is Everton target Youssef Chermiti?
Chermiti was born in Portugal to a Tunisian father and Cape Verdean mother, meaning he can play for any of those three countries.
The striker hails from a sporting family too; his father was a basketball player and his cousin Amine Chermiti was a Tunisian intentional football who turned out for the likes of Hertha Berlin and FC Zurich.
After spending time with youth clubs, Chermiti joined the Sporting ranks in 2016 and has now made his way into the first team.

Chermiti scored three times in 21 games last season, which may not sound like an incredible record.
Chermiti has been a real nuisance though, possessing real physicality at 6ft 4in tall whilst being hailed as ‘fast and powerful’ in Portugal.
The 19-year-old featured against Juventus in the Europa League and left Massimiliano Allegri very impressed with his performance.
We can understand why Sean Dyche may see real potential in Chermiti as a target man, and whilst there is a lot of developing for Chermiti to do, he clearly has huge potential.
