Chelsea are interested in appointing Ruben Amorim as their new manager amid claims he doesn’t fancy Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues are again looking for a new manager after sacking Graham Potter on Sunday night.
Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa proved to be the final straw with Potter now given his marching orders.
Todd Boehly is now seeking a new boss again having ditched Thomas Tuchel back in September.
Julian Nagelsmann’s name has been heavily inked but there is another name in the mix.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea also have Sporting boss Ruben Amorim on their wish list.
Romano claims he has heard Amorim is a contender of the Chelsea job and is ‘one to watch’ in the coming days and weeks.
“Another option I heard is Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese coach of Sporting,” said Romano. “He is doing an incredible job at Sporting with players, with the relationship with the fans, also a great relationship with their board, Ruben Amorim is doing an excellent job so he is one to watch too,” he added.
This comers after Sky Sports claimed in September that Chelsea had spoken directly to Amorim about a move to Stamford Bridge.
Boehly and co haven’t forgotten about Amorim and he may yet receive more contact from Chelsea about the job.

Mixed rumours on Ruben Amorim to Tottenham
Chelsea isn’t the only London opening right now as Tottenham Hotspur also need a new manager.
We’re going to see both clubs linked with the same managers now and Amorim is one of them.
The Guardian reported in March that Amorim is admired inside Tottenham and he would be interested in the job.
However, Portuguese newspaper A Bola suggested at the end of March that Amorim has snubbed Tottenham.
Amorim’s commitment to Sporting and concerns over working under Daniel Levy were understood to be the reasons for that decision.
There is still a real chance for Amorim to end up in London though as Chelsea now weigh up their move.
Amorim won the league title in 2021 and continues to shine as Sporting boss even at the age of just 38.
Interest is bound to arrive and Chelsea may be looking for better fortunes than Tottenham in pursuit of the Portuguese coach.
