Romain Saiss has signed a contract extension with Wolves, committing his future to the club until 2021.

Saiss spoke to the club’s official website to discuss his ambitions.

He is setting his sights high, and wants to play for the club in the Champions League.

Saiss said: “In the future, maybe playing European football with my club, maybe Champions League, Europa League, and win the African Cup with my country – that would be perfect.

“But I’m very happy now because I’ve done a lot of things since I started football. I thank God for what he has given me and if he can give me more I will take it.

“I’m very happy and I hope we can do something great with this club because we have a fantastic team and very good fans, so everything is here to do something great, now we have to do it.”

The Morocco international featured for his country at the World Cup and has had a taste of playing at a big tournament. It’s little wonder he has the appetite at club level too.

Saiss’ contract is only to 2021, meaning if he is to realise his goal of playing for Wolves in the Champions League, the club must finish in the top four next season.

Given their rapid progress, you can put nothing past this Wolves side.

They are into the quarter final of the FA Cup, and if they can win the competition, Europa League football awaits.

Saiss is clearly very happy at Wolves, and his comments underline the confidence at the club that right now they are on the verge of success, and the sky is the limit.
