Roma are scheduled to meet with the father of Yevhen Konoplyanka in an attempt to get ahead in the race to sign the Ukrainian winger.
Yevhen Konoplyanka has previously been on the brink of a move to Liverpool and his club Dnipro fended off West Ham’s advances, so now Roma might step in.
The 25-year-old has a £12 million release clause in his contract, but none of his suitors seem to be willing to activate it, instead hoping to agree a cheaper deal.
Dnipro have been determined to keep hold of their asset, but his contract expires next summer and they may need to cash him in come January.
The Roma transfer guru will meet Konoplyanka’s father on Tuesday to try and find provisional terms.
Sabatini has been praised for his shrewd work in the market and has often beaten rivals to the punch, so Inter, who are also eyeing Konoplyanka, will be concerned to hear of the talks.
Konoplyanka has been highly rated for some time, but some pundits feel he needs to leave Dnipro sooner rather than later or he may become a forgotten man.
