Roma selling Mohamed Salah to Liverpool has left the Italians looking silly.

Roma knew they were selling a top player to Liverpool when they cashed in on Mohamed Salah last summer.
But little did they know at the time that he would go on to embarrass them.
Roma did manage to get £36.9 million for Salah, but this fee looks cheap compared with the £150 million he has since been touted for.
Salah has scored 28 goals in 30 games this season, and Roma have had to defend their decision to sell him.

Roma president James Palotta told Tuttomercatoweb: “Salah is destroying the Premier League, he said he wanted to leave and there was not much left of his contract, so we had no choice.
“There are things that go on stage behind the scenes that people do not realise, like footballers who want to leave or things we have to do. We are not just trying to sell football players.”

Roma would probably quite like it if Salah would stop scoring, but he is showing no sign of slowing down, netting four times in Liverpool’s previous victory.
He is likely to play a prominent role at the World Cup for Egypt, which will further enhance his reputation.
£36.9 million was still a big fee for Liverpool to pay and some questioned it at the time. Right now it looks like a true bargain.
