The Roma ace is a reported transfer target for Liverpool.

AS Roma President James Pallotta looks on during the Serie A match between AS Roma and Juventus FC at Stadio Olimpico on March 2, 2015 in Rome, Italy.

Roma president James Pallotta sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports Italy, and admitted that Liverpool are interested in signing star stopper Alisson Becker this summer.

The Brazil international has made quite the name for himself this season, after a succession of superb displays between the sticks for Roma.

According to Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, the Reds have been interested in signing Alisson for quite some time, with a potential €60 million (£52.7 million) deal being mooted.

Jürgen Klopp will be desperate to add a world-class goalkeeper to his ranks this summer, and the 25-year-old would have been the perfect addition for the German.

Pallotta poured cold water on rumours linking Alisson with a switch to Anfield, however, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports Italy, and insisted that he plans to build the future of Roma around the goalkeeper:

“I am not going to sell him. Liverpool want to sign him and we are on very good terms with him. I am sure we will receive some huge offers this summer. We don’t want to sell him but the decision must also be taken by Monchi and the manager. We want to build the future of Roma around him.”

Liverpool and Klopp will get a first hand glimpse of just how good the Brazilian is when the two sides meet in the Champions League semi-final first leg clash at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow night, and if he puts in a match-winning display, the Reds’ hopes of signing him will surely decrease even further still.
