AS Roma are reportedly preparing an offer to sign Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, with Tottenham likely to lose the race for the Italian international.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Jose Mourinho’s side are set to make a bid for the Serie A maestro in the January transfer window, an offer that could well see Tottenham miss out on Frattesi as the midfielder has previously admitted he dreams of signing for Roma.
One of the best midfielders in Italy this season, Frattesi became an Azurri international this year as the midfielder was called-up to Roberto Mancini’s squad in just one notable high-point in a whirlwind 12 months for the 23-year-old talent.
And as reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham are now interested in signing Frattesi, though Antonio Conte’s side could soon miss out on the Sassuolo star if Roma make an offer to bring the midfielder back to the Italian capital.

Frattesi was once on Roma’s books before the playmaker was released by the club in 2017, with the midfielder since making the move to Sassuolo and thriving as one of Serie A’s most exciting talents and a player who could soon return to his boyhood club.
Indeed, Roma would be a dream move for Frattesi given his deep love for the Giallorossi, and for Tottenham, they might just have to deal with the fact that they might now stand with zero chance of signing the midfielder in the January transfer window.
Roma signing Frattesi would be one of the stories of the January window

Everyone loves a good story in football, especially ones about players reaching their dreams and hitting the goal they have wanted to achieve their entire career, and for Frattesi, that would be signing for his boyhood club in Roma having been released five years ago.
Of course, signing for Tottenham might be better for the midfielder, but given how incredible Frattesi’s story is, the midfielder returning to Rome to play for his club at a senior level would be one of the stories of the January window, as well as a move that could work out well for the youngster.
