Liverpool and Roma could be competing off the pitch as well as on it.

Liverpool visit Roma this week bidding to clinch their place in the Champions League final.
The Reds and the Giallorossi could also be competing off the pitch this summer too in the transfer market, for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Liverpool have in recent weeks been strongly linked to Ceballos, with CalcioMercato claiming the Anfield side are preparing a four-year deal.
Now Roma appear ready to hijack Liverpool’s efforts.

Roma sporting director Monchi is claimed to be a great admirer of Ceballos and the Serie A side hope to secure a loan deal for Ceballos for next season.

Roma are not the only side in the mix to scupper Liverpool’s move.
Either this or Roma’s loan deal is surely preferable to Real than Liverpool’s attempts to buy, as it would avoid them losing their control of Ceballos’ future.
