Italian side Roma are reportedly determined to get rid of Ashley Cole so they can find space in their wage bill for Tottenham’s Vlad Chiriches.
Ashley Cole’s Italian adventure hasn’t gone according to plan and Roma could push the former England international out as soon as possible.
When Roma swooped for Cole just after he became a free agent during the summer, it appeared they had pulled off a transfer coup.
But Cole has struggled to settle in Italy and has been warming the bench at the Stadio Olimpico while commanding a bumper wage.
There may well be further links between Roma and Spurs as both clubs have been linked with Palermo stopper Ezequiel Munoz and could compete for him in the January transfer window.
The Italian side are also looking to find a new club for striker Marco Borriello, who spent a period on loan at West Ham United, and is surplus to requirements in the Eternal City.
