Serie A side Roma are said to be keeping an eye on Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez and could make a move in January.
Reports from France suggest that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is a real admirer of Leicester man Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian international played his part in the World Cup and his attacking flair has reportedly wowed Sabatini, who is renowned for his shrewd signings.
Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has been keen to protect Mahrez from unrealistic expectations as he was in the French second tier as recently as nine months ago.
The Foxes paid just £400,000 for Mahrez from Le Havre back in January but he became a regular starter in the Leicester side that dominated in the Championship and he set up one goal and scored another against Burnley.
Pearson may be worried that Mahrez is attracting attention from bigger clubs and Roma could be poised to try and tempt him away.
It would be tough for Leicester to resist a significant offer and even tougher for the player to resist the chance to take part in the Italian title race.
