Roma and Liverpool will square off against each other in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tomorrow.

Roma ace Kevin Strootman sat down for an exclusive interview with Italian media outlet Repubblica, and shared how he unsuccessful tried to make contact with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah ahead of their huge Champions League clash in Rome tomorrow night.
Roma earned their place in the semi-final of Europe’s premier competition with an incredible 3-0 win over Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico two weeks ago, whilst the Merseyside outfit’s path to the last four was easier, on paper at least, after a 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City.
Tomorrow’s clash between the Italian and English sides is a highly anticipated one, with both sides renowned for playing exciting football, and Salah’s return to Rome will be an interesting sub-plot.

The Egyptian has been quite simply sensational since making his £34 million switch to Anfield in the summer of 2017, scoring 41 goals in 46 outings for Liverpool thus far.
Strootman – Salah’s former teammate, told Repubblica how he has tried to contact the 25-year-old Reds ace on numerous occasions, but to no avail:

“We will play against a top club, Bayern and Real are from another level, Liverpool are doing well. Salah is definitely the most dangerous player right now and we won’t be friends on the pitch. I’ve tried to call him lately but he doesn’t pick up the phone. He must have changed his number like six times. I will write to him after the semi-final.”
The game kicks off tomorrow night at 19:45 and can be seen exclusively live on BT Sport.
