The on-loan Newcastle United winger could face Blackburn’s Adam Armstrong at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough stadium on Saturday.

Rolando Aarons has told one of his former Newcastle United teammates to make sure he’s wearing his shin pads ahead of their meeting as Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers players.
Aarons’ Wednesday side welcome Adam Armstrong’s Blackburn to Hillsborough on Saturday – the first time the pair will have shared a pitch since the latter left Newcastle on a permanent basis last summer.
And speaking via the Owls’ official Youtube channel on Friday, the on-loan winger explained: “My mate plays for them, Adam Armstrong. I came through with him at Newcastle.
“So when I signed for Sheffield Wednesday we spoke about this – he thinks he’s going to leave one on me!”
Asked for his response to that, Aarons added: “I said make sure you’re wearing your shin pads! We’ll see what happens tomorrow.
“We were really close because we were the youngest ones in the group when we were breaking through at Newcastle. He’s a year younger than me, I think. So we were like the little kids in the changing room.
“We’re very close. We keep in contact.”

Both players have enjoyed productive spells away from Newcastle this season.
Aarons has scored or assisted two goals in five starts for Sheffield Wednesday, while Armstrong was named Championship player of the month for January.
Newcastle are said to have received an initial fee of around £1.7 million for Armstrong (Transfermarkt), who progressed through the Magpies’ academy ranks before loan spells at Coventry City, Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn.
