Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his disappointment at his long-term injury.

As reported by BBC Sport, Aarons has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in training.

The 21-year-old is a very talented and promising young footballer, but he has suffered with injuries in recent years.

According to BBC Sport, the England Under-20 international has been able to play a total of 22 games since joining the club in 2012.

Aarons has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at the long-term injury he has suffered.

The Newcastle winger has thanked the fans, and hopes that Rafael Benitez’s side get promoted back to the Premier League.

Newcastle are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 37 points from 16 matches. The Magpies are three points clear of second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rafael Benitez’s side will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the Championship.
