Newcastle United picked up their first Premier League win of the season and now find themselves outside of the relegation zone.

Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons took to Twitter to congratulate his parent club as they won for the first time this season and moved themselves out of the relegation zone in the process.
Rafa Benitez’s side would have been expecting an extremely tough afternoon with Watford going into the contest off the back of two wins that had seen them score five goals and not concede.
It was the Hornets that seemed to ask more questions during a goalless first-half at St James’ Park. But the Magpies did make more of an impact after the break.
Ayoze Perez bagged his first goal of the campaign with 25 minutes remaining. And that ultimately proved to be the decisive moment in the game as Newcastle held on to bag a crucial three points that have lifted Benitez’s men out of the bottom three.

It is not a win that is going to be remembered for years to come. But there is no question that it could be incredibly significant if it proves to be a turning point in Newcastle’s season.
Clearing that stumbling block could be hugely important heading into the busy festive period. And after the game, current Magpies winger Aarons – who is on loan in the Czech Republic with Slovan Liberec this season – took to social media to comment on the win and praise Perez.
